Chime-In is a group trip–planning platform designed to eliminate the stress, indecision, and frustration that often come with organizing outings with friends. Group planning is notoriously difficult due to conflicting preferences, decision fatigue, and unequal participation. Chime-In addresses these challenges by turning group decision-making into a simple, collaborative, and engaging experience. The platform guides users through a four-stage process. First, a user creates an outing and invites friends while selecting the types of activities the group is interested in. Next, participants swipe on activity cards, allowing them to quickly express preferences without lengthy discussions. The remaining activities are then ranked through a voting system, narrowing the options down to what the group collectively wants most. Finally, users can view the results and confidently move forward with a shared plan. Chime-In is designed with users in mind, featuring anonymous voting to reduce social pressure, a help page to onboard users smoothly, and a structure that actively combats decision fatigue. By simplifying the planning process and encouraging equal participation, Chime-In helps groups spend less time debating plans and more time enjoying experiences together.
